So today was my 3 month checkup, it has actually been 3 and a half months..

My eyes have been great, some days still dry, and feel like they have crud in them, but they always used to do that so it is nothing new it just seems new…

I knew I had been seeing real well, always comparing with people and still showing off.. ha, but wasn’t really sure if I was seeing better than I did with glasses.
I figured I was because the thing that is most noticeable is clouds and leaves on the trees.. They are much more defined than I ever remember them.

I went to my appointment and took my test and was seeing 20/15 pretty easily.. !! awesome!!
As I waited for the Dr. to come in I looked more at the chart and was starting to make out a few letters on the 20/10 line..
I told the Dr. I could make out some of them but would have to guess, he told me everyone has to guess on that line..

The Dr. said everything healed up perfectly and that 20/15 is obviously very good vision..

So all in all I am incredibly happy that I went through with the procedure, and would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want glasses or contacts.. for sure.

Hard to believe it has been two months already..
Time has been flying here with all the spring activities and preparing our house for a little one.

The eyes have been great, both eyes seeing very well, I believe better than they were with glasses..

There has been no dry eye pain, but still keeping the drops in my pocket for a once in awhile refresh..

Most activities have gone back to normal, always wearing safety glasses when making dirt and sawdust.
Everything for the most part feels normal again, still using caution when toweling off eyes, and still have not rubbed my eyes, but that is no big deal.

Still reaching to adjust my glasses once in awhile, I guess old habits die hard.

In retrospect the awful first month I had (with the PRK eye) was well worth the outcome, I am extremely happy I had the procedures done.

I go in late July for my 3 month appointment, I will update then what they have say..

So it has already been a month since my correction.. wow time flies.

Everything has been going well, and getting clearer as I was told, so that is good.
The PRK eye is still a bit blurry but is now much better than I ever was without glasses..

I didn’t want to mention it in case it was a fluke, but on day 24 the morning dryness and pain in the PRK eye stopped.. This was a major step in feeling normal, now just the typical morning eye vs. light syndrome which I can deal with.

I’ve been getting a hard time for comparing my vision to others’, I don’t think they like the “can you read that bottom line” question.. (or maybe they don’t like the fact that they can’t see it).
I always wonder if I am not seeing too well, but after comparing with others, I think I am seeing very well…

I am tapering off the steroid drop I use in the PRK eye (2 drops a day this week, 1 drop a day next week), and the Dr. said that after I am done with that my vision will get clearer much quicker… And it is still supposed to improve for 2 more months.

Awesome.

Today was my 3 week checkup appointment.
Did the eye test and was seeing pretty well today, Lasik eye did awesome, PRK eye I thought was a little weak but the Dr. said I was doing VERY well…

The Dr. said I was much further along than 95% of people at this stage who have had PRK, and that everything looked excellent.
I now get to taper off the steroid I am taking in the PRK eye the next 3 weeks, and he said after that it will improve a lot.. And that it will continue to improve for 3 months… That will be awesome.

So that was pleasant news.

Not too much to report lately, much the same and no big changes.

Eyes still fluctuate a little, but for the most part improving a little daily..

Still the sore dryness in the PRK eye in the morning, but the rest of the day is for the most part fine.
The eyes feel different daily as the PRK eye slowly catches with the Lasik eye.

The other day I was trying to read a picture across the room.. I could not make out the words with either eye by itself, but could read it using both.. That was odd.

I mowed the lawn on day 15, most places say to way 3 weeks, I did not have 3 weeks to wait..
But I wore a good pair of goggle safety glasses to limit the dust in my eyes.. I did not notice any irritation, so the glasses were a good idea.

I go for my 3 week checkup on Thursday, so it will be interesting to see if my progress is on track..

I did drive at night for the first time since the procedure, and it went well.
I was expecting a rough time from everything I have read, but really wasn’t bad for me..
The PRK eye initially looked as if I had done drops then looked into a light, but that cleared up and things looked a touch haloed but not bad.. Everything else in the Lasik eye looked nice and clear for the most part..

This is exciting..

So tomorrow is two weeks, and things are still improving so that is great.

Mornings are still rough on the PRK eye, other than that, both eyes feel about normal..

Vision in the Lasik eye is still fluctuating some, but more often good than not..
The PRK eye is still pretty blurry, with some haloing and slight double vision, but seems to be steadily getting better.

Being out and about, or at work, is much more comfortable than it has been, I think as the PRK eye gets better stuff starts to feel more normal.

Getting antsy.. I usually do not go this long without making some kind of dusty mess, and I am trying to hold off as long as possible, but it is getting tough..
The main thing right now is the yard.. I really need to mow and most info online says wait 3 weeks before mowing.. I cannot wait another week.. I am going to have to wear some good goggles and be super careful.

So I believe I am over the hump so to speak.. And that is a relief.

Yesterday and today were very similar. Woke up to a very dry PRK eye, few eye drops and good to go.
The Lasik eye has not had the same dryness problem, and has felt very good for several days..
No pain in either eye, with the exception of the morning dryness.. The pain is similar being very very light sensitive.

Worked a full day (for me) today, and had my lights on the whole time.. I have 2 eight foot 75 watt 5000k Daylight Balanced Fluorescent bulbs about a foot and a half above my head, it’s bright.

Vision in the PRK eye is improving, though still nowhere near useable, it is much better than a few days ago.. I am starting to be able to make out letters and things that were not possible the last week..
Still a slight double vision in the PRK eye when I get close to something..

The Lasik eye has been about the same, a little fluctuation between clear and slightly blurry. I think some of the blurriness comes from the eye working much harder to compensate for the PRK eye, it just gets fatigued.
Close up vision is getting much better, which makes things a lot more enjoyable..

All in all it is positive progress and I like that.
I am a little worried about all the pollen flying around, and the impending mowing I have to do this week..
Rest assured I will be wearing goggles and hitting the allergy meds.

Today was pretty good I have to say..
Woke up with nowhere near the feeling of the last week or so, which was nice..
I am still wearing safety glasses for sleeping, and I might stop that soon to see how that goes.

Virtually pain free today, one or two sharp blasts of pain (like being flicked in the eye) but nothing lingered..
Lasik and the PRK eyes are both a little clearer..
It’s a little exciting to gradually be able to see more and more with my PRK eye.

I went out to pick up something at a store this afternoon, and I still have the uncomfortable feeling in large spaces..
It could be just me and not having done much the last 10 days, but its hard to describe..
I think it has something to do with depth perception when only one eye is working properly, things just feel weird..

Lets hope today’s trend continues!

Morning was a little better, still tough.
Went to work, still had the pain in the PRK eye, not nearly as bad as last night though which is nice..

This evening felt pretty good, for the most part the PRK eye was behaving, still blurry but definitely improving.
The Lasik eye is good, but not as sharp as it has been..
Picked up some different preservative free drops, they feel a little better for a change up.

As fatigue sets in the pain is coming back in the PRK eye.. Probably should be resting the eyes more than I do..

—-start rant—-
Yesterday I received a letter from my Insurance saying they had talked to my Dr. and decided to finally approve my use of the eye drops..
I went back to pick up my prescription and the Pharmacist said it would be $225…
I showed him my letter and explained again that it has now been approved my my insurance, and he said that $225 was the “approved” price… I asked what the cash price was again and it was $245.
TWENTY DOLLARS…. That’s what my insurance covers?! Why waste my time?! I told him to keep his drops of gold..
Now keep in mind I do not have some no name Insurance either…
I am happy that a quarter of my paycheck goes to something I NEVER use, and the one time I need to use it, I can not..
One of the previous times I tried to use insurance I received a better discount with my AAA card… not kidding.
—-end rant—-

sorry, I must be tired.
